Bio: Dr. Yu Yang is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at East Carolina University, located in Greenville, North Carolina, USA. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany in 1993. Dr. Yang has published more than 60 invited or peer-reviewed research papers and has contributed over 100 invited lectures and conference presentations. Honors include the University Five-Year Achievement for Excellence in Research/Creative Activity Award, the Sigma Xi Helms Research Award, and the Scholar-Teacher Award, all from East Carolina University. He also is a two-time recipient of the College Research Award from the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences at East Carolina University. Dr. Yang also won The University of North Carolina Board of Governors Distinguished Professor for Teaching Award. He received two Cottrell College Science Awards from Research Corporation and the Starter Grant Award from the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh.
