Dr. Abhi Upadhyay is a food microbiologist with over 6 years of experience contributing to food safety research that aims to control foodborne pathogens at various stages in the supply chain by understanding Microbial physiology, virulence attributes and host-pathogen interactions. Dr. Abhi’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research, Pondicherry, India, 2002-2007), a master’s degree in Veterinary Microbiology (Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, India, 2008-2009) and a PhD in Animal Science (University of Connecticut, USA, 2010-2014). He served as a Postdoctoral Associate in Department of Animal Scienceis at University of Connecticut, USA. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral associate at the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science, University of Arkansas, USA. Dr. Abhi has published several peer-reviewed publications, review articles, and book chapters in the area of food microbiology and safety.
